Our History
The Presbyterian University Ghana Alumni Association (PUG Alumni) is the official body that unites all graduates of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), fostering lifelong relationships and advancing the mission and values of the University.
The Presbyterian University, Ghana, was established in 2003 by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana as part of its commitment to providing holistic and morally grounded higher education. As the University grew and began producing graduates, there emerged a need for an organized alumni body that would sustain connections among former students, promote their welfare, and support the University’s development.
In response, the Presbyterian University Ghana Alumni Association was formally inaugurated, and the first set of national executives assumed office in 2014, serving until 2018. Their leadership laid a strong foundation for alumni engagement, institutional support, and structured governance within the Association.
The second batch of executives took over from 2019 to 2024, continuing the legacy of unity, service, and collaboration. During their tenure, the Association deepened its partnership with the University administration, initiated developmental projects, supported student mentorship programmes, and strengthened alumni participation in university activities.
Currently, the third batch of executives is spearheading the affairs of the Alumni Association, building on the achievements of their predecessors. They are focused on expanding alumni networks, enhancing professional development opportunities, and championing initiatives that align with the University’s strategic vision.
Guided by its motto, “Discipline in Leadership,” and energized by the slogan, “Disciplinarian,” the Association continues to uphold the Presbyterian values of faith, integrity, service, and discipline. The PUG Alumni stands as a testament to the University’s enduring influence—producing graduates who exemplify excellence, leadership, and moral responsibility in Ghana and beyond.
We envision a future where every graduate stays connected, engaged, and supported throughout their careers, creating a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.
